Bruklindagi o'zbeklar/Uzbeks in Brooklyn, NYC

Nyu-York - dunyoning eng katta shaharlaridan biri. Sakkiz milliondan oshiq odam yashaydi. Uning Bruklin (Brooklyn) tumani 19-asr oxirlarigacha Amerikaning eng yirik shaharlaridan biri bo'lgan, chunki hajm jihatidan katta edi. Bugun ham ikki yarim milliondan oshiq aholiga ega.

Atlantika okeani bo'yidagi bu azim hudud, ayniqsa uning Brayton Bich (Brighton Beach) deya nomlangan sohil qismi Sovet davrida ham muhojirlar o'chog'i edi. AQShga kelgan o'zbekistonliklar uchun Bruklin birinchi bekat.

Yaqinda u yerga safar qilib, “Amerika Manzaralari” ko’rsatuvini tayyorlar ekanmiz, biz narsaga guvoh bo'ldik: Bruklinda bugun kichik O'zbekiston vujudga kelgan.

Bu yerda hayot to'xtamaydi. Qaynar qozon deyishadi Bruklinni. Kimlarni uchratmaysiz... Qayoqqa qaramang, ruscha yozuv. Oddiy amerikaliklar uchun bu yer chet eldek tuyulishi tabiiy. O'zingizni boshqa bir o'lkaga tushib qolgandek his qilasiz.

O'zbek taomlarini sog'ingan muhojirlar Amerikaning boshqa shtatlaridan bu yerga kelishadi. Chunki o'zbek restoranlari ko'p bu yerda.

Ayni damda Bruklinda, umuman Nyu-Yorkda qancha o'zbek yashaydi deb so'raganimizda hech kim aniq javob bera olmaydi. Bir necha ming degan taxmin bor.

Shunisi aniqki, bugun bu yerda o'zbek tilida gazeta chop etiladi. O'zbek tilida xizmat ko'rsatadigan bizneslar bor. Mahalliy bank va idoralarda o'zbeklar salom deb kutib olishadi.

Bruklin qaynar qozon bo'lsa, uning ichida o'zbek muhojirlar ham qaynab yotibdi. Kimdir hayotdan rozi, kimdir norozi.

Bu yer imkoniyat nima ekanini biladigan, uddaburo va pishiq insonlar uchun sehrli diyor, birovdan yordam kutmay o'zingiz mustaqil harakat qila olishingiz kerak, deydi biz bilan gaplashgan o'zbeklar.

Nyu-Yorkka yetib borgan kunimiz rosa yomg’ir yog’di. Bunaqa havoda shinamgina xonadonda mehmon bo’lib, yurtdoshlar bilan bir piyola choy ustida suhbat qurishga nima yetsin.

Jamoada Norxo’ja Eshon deya tanilgan aziz bir insonning uyidamiz. Amerikaga kelaman deb yurganlar, Bruklinga borsam o’zbeklar yordam berar deb umid qilayotganlar ko’p. Tajribali muhojirlar nima deb javob beradi?

Norxo’ja Eshon bilan muloqot ketidan Bruklin ko’chalarini yomg’irda bo’lsa-da kezishga qaror qildik. Hamrohimiz - Farhod Sulton. "Gazetchi yigit" sifatida tanilgan u. Ikki yildan beri chop etiladigan “Vatandosh” gazetasi va yaqinda ilk soni chiqqan “The Uzbek Times” jurnali asoschisi va noshiri.

Yurtdoshlar uchun uyda bo’lmasa, restoranlar uchrashuv joyi. Bruklinning o’zida bir necha o’zbek oshxonasi bor. Kichik bizneslar. Bosh oshpazdan tortib, ofitsantgacha O’zbekistondan. Ular qo’li qo’liga tegmay xizmatda ekan, Bruklinda bir necha yildan beri tirikchilik qilib, vatandagi oilasini boqayotgan, yangi kelgan vatandoshlaridan o’z maslahatu ko’magini ayamay kelayotgan yana bir insonni suhbatga chorlaymiz. Har bir muhojirning o’z qissasi bor.

Nyu-Yorkda quruvchilik qilayotgan; o’z do’konlarini ochib savdo bilan mashg’ul; taksi haydab yurgan; hamshira, doya yoki turli sohalarda oddiy xizmatchi bo’lib ishlab yurganlar juda ko’p.

Suhbatdoshlarimiz deydiki, Amerika imkoniyatlar mamlakati lekin mehnat, zarur bo’lsa qora ish, ertayu kech ter to’kishga tayyor bo’lish kerak.

Bruklinda tirikchilik oson emas, lekin kim bilan gaplashmaylik, hayotdan mamnun yashayotganini aytdi.
